The principal objective of the proposed development is for the construction of a single
block of apartment units providing 8 No. 1 bedroom apartment units. The proposed
building will be an extension to the existing facility. The development will extend to the rear of the site, will need internal circulation linked to the existing building and will need to retain as much of the existing landscaped garden areas as possible.
The designed facility will also need to address the surrounding areas in conjunction with a proposed rejuvenation plan to be carried out by Dublin City Council on the lands
incorporating the existing Rutland Street School, associated community buildings and Our Lady of Lourdes Church and lands. The site is located on the Sean McDermott Street and is bounded by a Dublin City Council swimming pool and a terrace of residential properties. The property shares access with the DCC swimming pool by means of a right of way agreement.
