Level 03 BIM

From my experience working on Level 2 projects, it seems the industry still has a lot of catching up to do to first before attempting Level 03 BIM. This is for sure apparent in SME's in Ireland. While working in Coady architects I guess its fair to say we dabbled a little in Level 03 BIM as the company was made up of two offices one in Dublin and one in Galway. Quite often I would have had had to jump into projects that the Galway office to help meet a particular deadline. Working from the Dublin office I was able to log on to a secure cloud server and access the model and synchronize with central in real-time. Although we were of the same discipline and technically the same office it had given me a taste of what it may feel like to work in a Level 03 BIM project. I could see the advantages straight away in terms of coordination with M&E & Structural. Implementing Level 03 BIM may not be an immediate requirement at present but I can definitely see small medium-sized firms attempting Level 03 BIM in around 10 years.
